FARMINGTON, N.M.- In the midst of the historic storm across New Mexico, preschool in the Four Corners got a scare when a lightning bolt struck a tree Tuesday.

No one was hurt, but the damage left behind a mess.

"Kiddos need that time outside and lots of debris is just a recipe for injury, so we wanted to make sure that it was safe for them to come back outside," said Nanete Pinckney, CEO of Echo Inc.

The Aztec community rallied behind the school to help clean up the mess.

The Echo Inc team plans to conduct fundraisers to raise money for the preschool and anything else they may need.
