Navajo Nation slowly opening up

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Navajo Nation are reevaluating their protocols and slowly opening up to the Navajo people, not visitors yet though.

The Navajo Nation went into strict lockdown after high hospitalizations, and death rates.

“You may know that last week, Utah had a spike in cases and Colorado is still seeing some outbreaks as well. We are monitoring the states all around us and making sure our people are safe that’s the most important thing here," said Navajo Nation President, Jonathan Nez.

He says about 70% of Navajo citizens are fully vaccinated, and they’re seeing lower case numbers and death rates.
