ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—A TV series chronicling the life of the Queen of Tejano music is coming to Netflix.

The multimedia giant has ordered the series that will retell the tragic life story of Selena Quintanilla. The two-part scripted series will be unique in that it will be produced by her family.

Selena was shot and killed in 1995 by her manager, Yolanda Saldivar.

Saldivar had been fired from the team after shady dealings and embezzlement came to light. She had refused to turn over financial papers and shot and ultimately killed Selena during a confrontation.
