New film festival to celebrate Navajo language and culture

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A new film festival in the Four Corners region is celebrating the Navajo language as the inaugural Navajo Film Festival is set to be held Saturday in Farmington.

All of the submitted films will be in the Navajo language, with nearly $1,000 in total cash prizes on hand for the winners, including an audience choice award. The films will be screened at the Navajo Preparatory School, beginning at 2 p.m.
