Officials have been made aware of unauthorized websites charging people for ordering birth and death certificates with a credit or debit card.

The department says it only uses one website, called VitalChek, to collect payments using a debit or credit card.

Information on that website can be found here, or customers can go directly to the VitalChek website here or call them at 1-877-284-0963.
