ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The new monsoon report is out for New Mexico.

"Some really good news!" said Kerry Jones at the National Weather Service.

Jones says the new report calls for a good chance of robust monsoon rain throughout the summer.

But even with the optimistic outlook, New Mexico is still suffering from months of mostly dry weather.

In fact, Jones says even if New Mexico has an above average monsoon, it may not be enough to pull the state out of the drought.

"What's it going to take? Day after day, week after week, of this good monsoon pattern that we're looking forward to," said Jones.
