ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – It will take much less time to board your next flight at the Santa Fe Regional Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration announced it is deploying the latest screening technology in Santa Fe, with screens that look for both metallic and non-metallic threats.

Officials say the innovation allows for a less invasive trip through security.

"What the technology allows us to do is to specifically focus on those areas that we need to touch so we're not having to touch the entire person," said Jesse Sanchez, federal security director for TSA.

Officials hope the improved security features will encourage more travelers to fly through Santa Fe. If they do, then more airlines could start offering flights from the capital city.
