NMSP identifies Artesia police officer killed in crash

ROSWELL, N.M. — New Mexico State Police is investigating a crash that killed an Artesia police officer Friday.

An initial investigation indicates 42-year-old Cpl. Thomas Wade Frazier rear-ended a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 285 Friday, according to NMSP. 

Frazier died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 20-year-old driver from Dexter, was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
