NMSP investigating fatal, head-on collision in northern NM

TRES PIEDRAS, N.M. – One man is dead following a head-on crash between a pickup truck and a semi-truck Thursday evening in northern New Mexico, according to state police officials, who are investigating the incident.

The two vehicles were traveling along U.S. 285 when, for reasons still unknown, the truck, driven by 59-year-old Mark Conklin, crossed into the southbound lane and collided with the semi, killing him.

The driver of the semi was uninjured in the accident. State police say both men were wearing their seat belts.
