Organ Fire at 4,700+ acres in size; 25% contained

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Organ Fire burning in southern New Mexico is now 25 percent contained.

The blaze has scorched more than 4,700 acres—amounting to more than seven square miles. Most of that is on White Sands Missile Range off Highway 70, though some of the acreage encompasses state-owned land.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
