SANTA FE, N.M. – The city of Santa Fe says it will be tossing out dozens of parking tickets that were issued out over a several month period.

City officials told our partners at the Santa Fe New Mexican that “battery flaws” in 280 of the city’s parking meters are to blame.  Tickets issued in the affected meters have been thrown out and the batteries will be replaced at no cost to taxpayers.

So far, 78 parking tickets have been cancelled.

Drivers who believe they got a ticket in error should call the parking operations manager, during normal business hours, at 505-955-6752 to file a report.
