DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. - A Dona Ana County man is facing time behind bars for hiding video cameras in bathrooms and capturing video of victims using the restroom, showering, and changing clothes.
A jury found 55-year-old Paul Ikard guilty of one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children and two counts of Voyeurism.
According to Twelfth Judicial District Attorney John P. Sugg, the videos were discovered when Ikard sent his computer's hard drive to a company in Ohio to be repaired. That company alerted the FBI who then handed the case over to the Las Cruces Police Department.
Police were able to locate multiple videos showing Ikard setting up hidden cameras under sinks and in bathroom vents.
The videos captured victims ranging in age from 9 years old to early 20s. Police say Ikard's face was even seen on some of the videos as he worked to set up the cameras.
Ikard faces a maximum of 4.5 years behind bars and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
Ikard is expected to be sentenced in approximately 30 days.
