Pay it 4ward: Volunteer teaches people with disabilities to kayak

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Water is rare in the desert and what little there is usually brings people together.

But for people with physical and cognitive disabilities, getting on the water can be a scary thing.

Kayak New Mexico volunteer Jane Bale helps people conquer their fears and treats them to a whole new experience at the same time.

“Jane has unbelievable patience both for adults, parents, volunteers and the kids especially,” said Carol Phelan.

She nominated Bale for Pay it 4ward.

Watch the video above to see Bale’s reaction when she was surprised with $400 for her continued service to the community.
