Farmington homicide suspect shot, killed by U.S. Marshals in Arizona

FARMINGTON, N.M. - A wanted homicide suspect has been shot and killed in Arizona.

Police had been searching for 41-year-old Pedro "Peter" Lucero since a double shooting in Farmington last Wednesday. 24-year-old Francine Delgado was shot and killed.  Another woman was shot in the buttock, but she was treated and released.

Police say Lucero was located by U.S. Marshals in Mesa, Arizona and was shot and killed as they were attempting to take him into custody. Details on what happened are limited.

According to Farmington Police, Lucero was wanted on first-degree murder charges in addition to a federal probation violation.

Police are still looking for Miguel Hernandez. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police.
