People who didn't receive federal stimulus check can apply for check from the state

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- People who did not receive a federal stimulus check can apply to receive money from the State of New Mexico.

The state legislature approved $5 million for one-time cash assistance payments up to $750 to qualifying New Mexico residents.

Payments will be provided to a household, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All form requests must be submitted by Dec. 11, 2020. Payments will be issued by the end of December 2020.

In order to qualify you must:

  • Be a New Mexico resident
  • Have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), or a valid NM Drivers License or NM Identification Card. SSN or ITIN is preferred.
  • You were not eligible to receive an Economic Impact Payment (https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payment-information-center-topic-a-eip-eligibility). If you have any questions, please contact 833-651-4836.
