Richard Milan, 64, was shot Wednesday night near Lucia Lane and Airport Road in Santa Fe.

He died at the hospital.

Police say Milan encountered five young men and women in their late teens or early 20s before he was shot.

The surveillance video shows a flash go off, possibly from a gun.

Investigators say the suspects ran off and the video ends with responders showing up.

According to police, Milan was traveling from California to Michigan and stopped in Santa Fe to visit family.

People with information about the shooting are encouraged to contact Santa Fe police.
