The bodies of a male and female were found in a white SUV at the 300 block on Don Gaspar.

Their names have not been released, but police believe they were both in their 30s.

Police say the female was a state employee.

The Jerry Apodaca Education Building, where the investigation is centered, has been closed for the day.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said grief counselors would be made available for state employees.

"My heart is broken for the family and loved ones of the state employee who was tragically and violently taken from us too soon," the governor said. "I am grateful to Santa Fe law enforcement for their quick response and I want every state employee to know that we are here to support you through this trying time.”
