Protesters arrested in Santa Fe, post selfie from jail

SANTA FE, N.M. - About a dozen protesters conducted a sit-in at the New Mexico State Capitol Thursday night.

They demanded migrant families, that were separated at the border, be reunited.

At least three people were arrested for resisting an officer. Self-identified protester Eleanor Chavez posted multiple selfies from jail and posted on Facebook that she was spending the night in the Santa Fe County jail. 

New Mexico State Police Lieutenant Elizabeth Armijo says, in addition to the arrests, 12 protesters were given citations for criminal trespassing.
