ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — If you're looking for rental or utility assistance after experiencing hardship because of the pandemic, the Emergency Rental Assistance Program wants to help. About $150 million of $170 million is left over.

The New Mexico Emergency Rental Assistance Program is still offering COVID-19-related rental or utility assistance.

The program has $150 million of $170 million in assistance left over for anyone who has experienced hardship because of the pandemic. The program can pay for up to 12 months of back rent, 3 months of future bills and also helps with utility bills.

Paperwork is necessary, including proof of being a renter in New Mexico and loss of income. Proofs include a lease, a reduced paystub or an unemployment letter.

For more information, visit https://www.renthelpnm.org/. There is a related event happening August 3, 8 a.m. to Noon, at Expo New Mexico.
