ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- KOB projects New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District will return to Republican control.
Yvette Herrell is expected to defeat Rep. Xochitl Torres Small, the Democratic incumbent.
The race was watched nationally because Republicans had a chance to pick up a seat in the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives.
Torres Small defeated Herrell in 2018. In a video posted to Twitter Wednesday morning, she congratulated Herrell.
I am so deeply grateful to have served this district, to have served my home, for the last two years. This district has taught me so much. https://t.co/OFpOunsWTf
