ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A Winter Weather Advisory is expected to remain in effect in eastern New Mexico until midnight.

I-40 is icy in spots in the eastern part of the state, and strong wind is making driving more difficult.

Several crashes were reported in the Tucumcari area, which has seen more six inches of snow.

"The roads are a little bit messy, but you just have to travel slow and you’ll be good," said John Cook, who was driving through New Mexico to North Carolina.

Northeastern New Mexico was under a rare Blizzard Warning Wednesday, however, it expired as weather conditions slightly improved.
