Officials seek help after donkey dies from gunshot wounds

SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. – The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in solving a horrific case. Deputies say someone shot a donkey in a horse pasture in mid-April.  It happened just east of the intersection of County Road 350 and County Road 3000.

Officials say the donkey was a family pet and has recently died due to the injuries is sustained in the shooting.

According to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the road near the residence and two shots were fired by someone inside the vehicle.
