ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- San Juan Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Farmington is at moderate to high capacity.

Hospital officials said, as of Friday, they were treating more non-COVID-19 patients than those with the virus.

"Right now have confirmed COVID patients less than 20, and we have capacity in what we call our COVID/respiratory ICU," said Suzanne Smith, chief nursing officer at SJRMC. "We have capacity for about four patients at this time. And in our non-critical care environments, we have some capacity also for patients."

The numbers change daily, and health officials encourage people to seek treatment if they need medical assistance.

"If we have met capacity in one environment, then we can make transitions of patients another environment to really facilitate that air, so people should not be afraid to come to the hospital and really need to seek care when they need it," Smith said.
