SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Police in Santa Fe are investigating a fatal shooting of a man at a house party.

They say 19-year-old Rodrigo Enriquez-Garay arrived at a hospital early Sunday with injuries from gunfire and later died.

He told police that he was attending a party with his family at a house when a neighbor fired at least one shot toward the party.

Enriquez-Garay was struck by a bullet and was taken to a hospital by family shortly after midnight.

According to the criminal complaint, police arrested 64-year-old Beverly Melendez, a neighbor, at around 1:30 a.m.

Police said Melendez told them she had been holding her rifle in her backyard – while looking into the backyard of the party – and could not remember what happened.

A note in the complaint says that the Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center received a call from a woman who identified herself as "Beverly," regarding a potential human sacrifice in the area.

Melendez is facing a charge of second-degree murder.
