ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Farmington Municipal Schools will return to 100% virtual learning after Thanksgiving.

The announcement was made due to the rising numbers of positive COVID-19 cases. The district plans to offer the hybrid option again on Jan. 19 for kindergarten-5th grade, and jumpstart students who were part of the original hybrid model.

Aztec School, however, plan on doing things differently.

"After Thanksgiving, for two weeks, we will go virtual across the district, and we will bring back our elementary students that last week right before Christmas break," said Superintended Kirk Carpenter.

After Christmas break, students will stay online-only for two weeks.

"We obviously wanted a plan in place to make sure everybody was safe, and that two-week period will provide an incubation period if you will," Carpenter said.
