ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New details in a July murder case reveal it may have been preceded by some sort of altercation, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.

Robert Romero was fatally shot in front of his house on July 30. According to new documents obtained by the New Mexican, Romero's wife told police she awoke to hear her husband screaming her name.

When she got downstairs, she told police, she saw her husband outside in a fight with someone wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Her husband told her to get help, she said, so she ran inside to call 91.

That's when she heard a gunshot, according to the documents.

Santa Fe Police are still looking for a suspect. If you know anything about the case, you are urged to call SFPD at (505)428-3710.
