ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Excitement is building for ski season in Santa Fe.

Ski Santa Fe has received 7 inches of snow this season.

The snow has helped attract more business to Alpine Sports in Santa Fe.

"It's definitely been busy. This past Friday forward has been crazy," said owner Shirlee Cole. "Whether it's getting their skis tuned, mounting some new gear or buying some new apparel, people are definitely excited.”

Cole is hoping for a snow-filled ski season, especially after a disappointing 2017-2018 season.

"It was rough. It just wasn't much of a winter. Ski Santa Fe did the best they could with keeping it safe up there for people and we did everything that we could to keep the ski shop open, keep it fresh, but there just wasn't lot of skiing or snowboarding to be had in Santa Fe,” said Cole.

Ski Santa Fe's tentative opening date for this season is set for Nov. 22.
