State police officer makes his 100th DWI arrest for 2017

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --  New Mexico State Police say one of its officers reached a unique milestone last week.

According to State Police, Officer Toby LaFave made his 100th DWI arrest of 2017 on Sept. 8.

LaFave has a total of 14 years of law enforcement experience, the past six of which has been with NMSP.

State police say LaFave was honored with the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) officer of the year in 2013 and 2014, and with the Valencia County DWI "Walking the Line to End DWI" award in 2015 and 2016.
