TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M. – There’s a hidden gem in New Mexico called Blackstone Hotsprings.

The resort, located in Truth or Consequences, is the brainchild of Ralph Stuart and his husband Rob.

"In 2005, when I met Rob, we came to T or C on an adventure. He'd always wanted to own a hot springs,” said Stuart. "[We] saw Blackstone and fell in love with the 1940's architecture and the courtyard building."

The courtyard is filled with lush greenery. The motel is reminiscent of a time that was.

Stuart says the same can be said about each room.

"We thought since Truth or Consequences is named after a TV show and a radio show that it would be fun to theme the rooms, but not make them kitschy, but just pay homage to the vintage TV shows," Stuart said.

In one of the rooms, Superman memorabilia hangs from the walls and the closet looks like a phone booth.

But what really makes the resort special is that each room has its own private hot spring.

"Guests are allowed to fill their own tub and soak as much as they want," said Stuart.

He says he wants each guest to experience peace and tranquility.

"The primary thing is the soaking and coming here just to relax and get in touch with yourself and catch up to who you are as a person," Stuart said.

Two new rooms are coming to Blackstone. One will include Star Trek décor, the other will be a tribute to Wonder Woman.
