Staycation Steve: Getting pampered at the Jemez Hot Springs

JEMEZ SPRINGS, N.M. – Ever since he's arrived in New Mexico, KOB's Steve Soliz has had the opportunity to travel around and take in our beautiful state, bringing viewers along on his travels in the process.

His latest excursion is a popular getaway for many New Mexicans, one just a short trip into the Jemez Mountains. What is now the peaceful village of Jemez Springs was once home to the Jemez people dating back to the 1300s.

Much of the old San Jose Mission still looks like it did nearly 400 years ago, when it was built in 1621 by the Spanish. But while some come here for the history, others make the trip seeking a little pampering.
