It happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday on US 70 near mile-marker 339.

Police say the initial investigation indicates that a 16-year-old boy was riding his bicycle in the middle of the road when he was hit by a 2014 Ford Mustang.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The driver was not charged with any crime.
