Lucas Morten, Hujrah Wahhaj, and Subhannah Wahhaj walked out of jail around 5 p.m.

Hours earlier, a judge dropped the 11 counts of child abuse they were facing, citing the prosecution's failure to hold a preliminary hearing within 10 days of their arrest, which is required by New Mexico law.

"They've made errors, that's clear," said Subhannah Wahhaj's defense attorney, Megan Mitsunaga.

Morten and Subhannah Wahhaj will have to stay in Taos County as part of their conditions of release for trespassing. Hujrah is free to leave the county.

Mitsunaga would not say where the three would be staying.
