ROSWELL, N.M. - It was a wake-up call people at a neighborhood known as “The Base” don’t want to hear again.

“It was some shots and it sounded like four to five shots,” a neighbor said.

The neighbor went on to say the gunshots woke him up around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

He said about 30 minutes later, he saw police units heading to a house on the 90th block of West Byrne Street.

The Public Information Officer for Roswell PD, Todd Wildermuth, said 20-year-old George Henry Alley is suspected of shooting two 18-year-old men at his home.

He said police received a call a few minutes past 5 a.m. about the shooting. Wildermuth said they received another call around the same time, but it was from the hospital informing him two gunshot victims were there.

Wildermuth says both victims are hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alley is still on the run. He's 5'10" tall, about 260 lbs., has black hair and brown eyes.

“We already have a warrant for his arrest for two counts of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault relating to this incident,” Wildermuth said.
