ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Secretary of State's Office has sent out tens of thousands of postcards to New Mexico voters, asking for updated address information.
The move is in an effort to comply with state and federal law.
The National Voter Registration Act requires states to maintain accurate voter registration lists and New Mexico law requires the secretary of state to send notice to any voters who may have been identified as having moved without updating their registration.
In total, 54,052 postcards were sent out to voters in New Mexico.
