Warmer weather drawing bears out of hibernation in the Four Corners

DURANGO, CO.- As the temperatures rise in the Four Corners, bears are coming out of hibernation.

Wildlife experts say bears will be in search of food.

“They start getting into eating mode," said Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesperson Joe Lewandowski.

Lewandowski said people should lockup their garbage in bear-resistant trash cans. He also said low-hanging bird feeders should be removed and windows should be locked.
