ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Whether you’re a golf pro or just thinking about getting on the links, there’s a new option in the metro.

“We’ve got everything under one roof, I mean we’ve got five trackman simulators, an instruction bay, full club repair, full resale, all the main manufacturers. We have accounts with food and beverage with Starr Brothers,” said David Muttitt, co-owner and director of Pars and Rec.

Pars and Rec opened earlier this month. People can tap in to play courses, scrambles and other games all while enjoying some local beer.

“My favorite thing is probably the fact that you can do so many things in one, kind of like you said, you can get great instruction, play golf, shop, and eat and drink all at the same time,” said Tracey Ivie, a ladies specialist and assistant golf pro.

“There’s almost 300 golf courses, we have the Ryder Cup course that they are going to play next week, St. Andrews, I mean there is too many to list, but there are full courses obviously and then there are some par three courses little courses, you can play putting games,” Muttitt said.

While many may compare them to Top Golf, Muttitt says there are major differences.

He says Par and Rec’s simulator gives people feedback on their swings, and there are coaches available for people who want to better their game.

“I’ve done club fitting for years working for Titleist. I did it for six years, I’ve taught for about 22 years, same as Jason who is our general manager, he is an expert fitter and a master club repair technician. We have Tracy who is really focusing on the ladies and running ladies’ clinics and ladies nights,” said Muttitt.

Pars and Rec is open seven days a week for people to stop by and play on Menaul. The best way to make sure you get a bay is to book online.
