LAS VEGAS, N.M. – A Las Vegas teacher and basketball coach is facing felony charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a middle school student. 

Police arrested 65-year-old James Branch after they say he inappropriately touched a 13-year-old girl while at school.

The teen told police Branch often made her feel uncomfortable and made strange comments. 

Then, in January, he allegedly asked her for help with his computer. That’s when she says Branch assaulted her. 

Branch was put on administrative leave on Jan. 24. He was booked into the San Miguel County Detention Center Friday.
