ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - This week's Morning Shift Salute honors the hard-working crew at the Bernalillo County Fire Department.

Lieutenant David Lujan and the team learned of a woman's circumstances during a welfare check. The woman is currently in hospice while battling cancer, so the team decided to team up with other businesses in the community to help spruce up her yard.

"Anytime we have an opportunity to do something a little above and beyond we wanna take advantage of that opportunity, not because we want recognition but because its the right thing to do," said Lujan. "Our trucks say fire department but it goes a whole lot more than that."

To help show the crew that they are appreciated, Steve headed down to meet them in the neighborhood where they did all of the work, with hot burritos and coffee in hand from Blake's! Watch the entire video for more.
