BetterSleep | What the Tech? App of the Day
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (WHAT THE TECH?) — Many people say this sleep app is the best and reviewers are raving about it – the app is called “Better Sleep.”
Here’s what it does:
There’s a fairly large library of sleep sounds to help you fall asleep. All shades of white noise and everything from wind in palm trees, to a metro train, to ASMR sounds, like writing, bubble wrap and slime.
What’s different is you can combine sleep sounds, sheep walking and sticky slime for example, and add some background music. There are bedtime stories and meditations too. It provides reminders to wind down before bed and alarms to wake you up.
The app uses the device microphone to determine when you fall asleep and you can connect your Apple Watch for more accurate sleep tracking. You can see how much REM sleep you’re getting on average and how much of the night you spend in deep sleep.
BetterSleep can also use the microphone to record any snoring or sounds during the night. It could be helpful information for your doctor.
If all that sounds good, BetterSleep is available for iPhone, Android, and Kindle Fire Tablets. It’s a free app for limited features. A premium subscription is $60 a year but there’s a free 7-day trial.
