Investigation underway after Rio Rancho police shooting
Rio Rancho police, responding to a domestic violence incident, end up shooting a man near Enchanted Hills.
RIO RANCHO, N.M. — A shooting involving Rio Rancho police officers sent a man to the hospital after a reported domestic violence incident Saturday night.
In a social media post, the Rio Rancho Police Department wrote that officers responded at approximately 6:20 p.m. to the incident near the intersection of Enchanted Hills Blvd and Bismark Hills Way NE.
An adult male was shot by officers and taken to an area hospital. No officers were injured.
A viewer who filmed the encounter sent it to KOB 4. A man could be heard telling police to shoot him as officers commanded him to show his hands. A gunshot then rang out.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is now investigating the incident.
