Snow in northern and eastern New Mexico will be followed by drier and warmer conditions

Snow falls in northern and eastern New Mexico

Light snow will impact travel along I-25 near Raton and I-40 near Clines Corners, before things dry out and warm up the rest of the week.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Light snow will fall over much over much of the forecast area into Monday with accumulations of a few inches favoring north central areas, and farther south along the east slopes of the central mountain chain. Both I-40 and I-25 will be impacted from Raton Pass southward to Las Vegas and Clines Corners.

Locally, higher amounts of up to six inches will be possible on the high peaks and northeast slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

After lower-elevation high temperatures bottom out in the 30s and low 40s on Sunday and Monday, readings will rebound through the remainder of the work week reaching near to around 5 degrees above 30-year averages by Friday.
