Gabe Salazar joined KOB 4 as a Morning Anchor in December 2022.
Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii he is bringing a fresh perspective on New Mexico news.
Before moving to New Mexico, Gabe covered the 2021 Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Park fires and evacuations in Fresno, California.
As a morning anchor in Yuma, Arizona, Gabe spearheaded investigations covering humanitarian crisis on the southern border. He exclusively reported on the discovery of a 100-foot-long cross-border tunnel.
Gabe considers San Diego as his hometown and enjoys a relaxing day on the golf course, a competitive round of tennis, exploring local cuisine, and tasting wine at the many wineries New Mexico offers.
Gabe is a newsroom “Swiss Army Knife” and a proud Asian-American journalist.
