Kai Porter is a reporter and the Saturday morning anchor. He joined KOB 4 in April 2014.
Prior to joining KOB, Kai spent two years as a reporter at KPTV in Portland, Oregon. Kai began his career at KTSM in El Paso, TX, where he worked his way up from a reporter to the morning anchor. While in El Paso, Kai covered the drug war in Juarez extensively, along with other border issues.
Kai earned his bachelor’s degree from Emerson College, in Boston. While in college, Kai held internships at FOX News Channel in New York City and KSFR Radio in Santa Fe, NM. During his time at KSFR, Kai won a 2008 New Mexico AP Broadcasters award for his reporting on home prices in Santa Fe.
Kai is a Santa Fe native and graduated from Santa Fe High School.
When Kai isn’t working, he is spending time with family and friends, enjoying New Mexican food, and exploring the outdoors around his home state.
