Adcox comes to Sandia with some lofty credentials — he won a state championship in his last year at Manzano and he hopes to instill some of that winning tradition at Sandia.

Adcox is old school when it comes to offense and defense.

"The kids are hungry to get better each and every day, and that's something I was definitely impressed with," Adcox said. "You know they've been coming off a few losing seasons in a row, but they still have a lot of fire and a lot of spirit and they want to get to work. That has been a great thing and a big surprise to me. I thought that something I was going to have to fix was their work ethic."
