ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Cibola Cougars had a solid season last year and they are looking to take another step forward.

The Cougars were taking part in the 7-on-7 scrimmages Thursday at Highland High School.

Head coach Rod Williams has some key positions to fill but that is why the 7-on-7's are so important.

He thinks it will pay off in the fall.

"We just got to keep plugging away and you know, I think it's consistency, I think the culture is a big deal," Williams said. "We made big steps last year with the culture and we were able to advance last year in the playoffs. That was good for the program."
