ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — La Cueva's high school football team is entering fall camp as the defending state champs.

Last year, they had New Mexico's best defense to go along with a high-scoring offense.

All eyes will be on wide receiver Connor O'Toole.

He's been offered by Power 5 schools from the Pac-12, SEC, ACC, Big Ten and more.

With O'Toole leading the offense, the Bears defense wants to set the tone.

"I think that Noah Woisin is the one that starts it," said head coach Brandon Back. "I told him earlier that this is his defense. He moves from an outside linebacker strong safety position to a Mike linebacker for us."

"Every day is a new day coming out here, trying to improve and get better," Noah Woisin said. "We are all ready for this morning, ready for fall camp to start. Just looking forward to a good season."

"You know Coach Back all the time says the school is prided on defense," O'Toole said. "You know we lost a couple of guys last year but I definitely feel that a lot of people are ready to step up."
