ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Last year, Eldorado made the state playoffs despite losing their quarterback in week three.

Now 11 starts are returning. Ben West and Elijah Goree make a great one-two punch at running back.

Offensive line has the most experience.

Lineman Keith Alvarado is the Eagle's first four-year starter since Zach Gentry.

Winning the battle in the trenches is the top priority for the Eagles.

"We know that our lines on both sides of the ball are going to anchor us so just, you know, staying healthy," said Keith Alvarado.

"We have four returning seniors and our defensive line, we have two all-state players returning, so I think that's going to be our strongest part," said Joey Burke.

"You put so much work in the summertime, as far as plays and stuff like that," said head coach Charlie Dotson. "When it comes to fall, you just basically run your offense and defense and try to get in shape for week two for a scrimmage."
