They have a lot of new faces in their starting lineup. The Monarchs have to replace their quarterback, their top rusher and their top receiver.

They open the season Aug. 24 at home with Las Cruces.

"Feel a lot of excitement, you know, we're a young team and I'm excited for these guys to show on he field what they've been working on all spring," said head coach Phillip Martinez. "I'm just looking forward to our scrimmage."

"It's just exciting, we have our helmets on, just another day closer to playing Las Cruces," said player Chris Valdez. "We just need to gel as a team, I mean we're already pretty good at that, so I think we're pretty good from here on out."
