ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The NMAA is trying to figure out how to schedule high school sports next month.

Football presents the biggest challenge. Teams typically play one game a week.

However, several ideas are being discussed for the regular season and playoffs.

Executive Director Sally Marquez hopes to have a plan in place by next week.

"I've talked to the football coaches, and they would like meaningful games," she said. "I will have a meeting with them on Friday and then get some information to take to the Board of Directors, and ultimately it's up to the Board of Directors to decide how we are going to go forward with football in New Mexico."
