ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Lobo men’s basketball team has a lot of talent coming into the program next season, but the future of the Lobos may be playing at Santa Fe High School next year. J.B. White is a top-rated player in the state and he said next year he wants to be a Lobo.
Giving the Lobos an early commitment has taken a lot of the pressure out of the recruiting game and staying close to home was extremely important.
“It's a big deal, really, I have a lot of family here. My grandma on my mom’s side. I'm very proud to play in front of them,” said Lobo commit JB White.
The Lobos have four players coming into the program as freshman next season but White is only a junior at Santa Fe High. He is 6'8’’ and says he is still growing, and he is already building a rapport with his future teammates.
“I have like talked to them and stuff, have them on my social media so I text him like often. Me and the recruit Javonte—we've been talking a lot lately as well and we're just trying to bring more guys in really,” White said.
White will be able to officially sign with the Lobos in November.
